Dear Helen, I thought we'd see forever but forever is GONE. Our paths crossed at the Desire of the Nations Parish. I recall you decorating the DON altar, then Steve shone his eyes wide on you. I recall your wedding day like yesterday. What I didn't know was your time in this market called LIFE, I didn't know it will be this short. Grateful to GOD for your life, though short it was outstanding. I can see you soaring high above to where no pain exist. In the arms of your Maker. Sleep on beloved Emem B.

Emem Ben, 13 August, 2021

My husband and I didn’t have the opportunity to know you personally because We joined the church few years ago but the little times “I“ saw you, you stroked me as a reserved , calm and classy person. I admired your sense of style too. I wish I knew you more than I did but heaven’s call I cannot question. I pray that God gives Pastor and the family the fortitude to bear the pain of your absence. You will be missed Ma.

Sis Helen, you had this aura around you of peace, humility and a deep lover of God, a woman of God, it was wonderful to have known you. You were on our prayer list, we were talking to God about you constantly until we heard the news that you had gone to be with your maker. it hurt, it was a shock. The picture of the thanksgiving we would have had on manifestation of the testimony we were expecting was almost very real in the mind. We surrender to the Almighty God, we are comforted greatly by the fact that you were a child of God and you have returned to base HALLELUYAH!!! We pray that the Almighty God comforts our bro Pst. Steve and the children. It is not how long but how well. We shall all finish the race well in His time in Jesus name. AMEN. This is not farewell but till we meet at the feet of our Saviour Master Jesus. what do we say

We never really got to know you up close but our occasional interactions with you highlighted what our Pastor Steve regaled us about you- a woman who loved her family and the things and people of God intensely. You were indeed a great woman and a mother in Israel. Your life was sublime and in departing , you left behind footprints on the sands of time. We are encouraged by your example and consoled by the fact that you have entered into your rest. Rest on Pastor Helen. Chisonum and Philo Ikoko

Olubusola OJOMO, 10 August, 2021
I remember when I newly joined BCC in 2017, I used to admire Pastor Mrs from afar. She was an epitome of beauty, softly spoken and classy. There was just this aura of calmness around her. I really liked her. I got to interact with her personally for the first time when I joined the committee that organised the Christmas party of that year and I saw first hand, the qualities I saw afar off. She was indeed a wonderful woman. We do not mourn like those who have no hope. We celebrate the life of a woman of God that was well lived although short. Our assurance is in the fact that she rests in the bosom of God where there is no more pain and sorrow. My sincere prayer is that the Lord comfort and uphold Pastor Steve and the children. Sleep on beloved Pastor Helen Odesomi.

Wao. Heaven has again taken her own. She was a woman of God true and true: peaceful, gentle and humble. Always in the business of pleasing God and people; and making God's house beautiful. Your life was quietly inspiring. And I saw your hand in the life of my friend and Brother. You lived short but impactful. And what we ask God for now is the fortitude for Pst Steve, the children and the rest of the family and of course the church to bear the loss in Jesus name. It is well.

I knew you way back in Desire of Nations when we were all singles as a committed worker in God's vineyard, we became closer when you got married to your beloved husband. I can testify that you were a kind, gentle and humble soul who lived and served her maker to the best of her ability, you fought a good fight and God has deemed it fit to call you home when He did. It is well, sleep well until the resurrection morning. Good night Sister Helen.

Mr & Mrs Akintunde , 07 August, 2021
Life is short but we don't know how short it is. That is why we are shocked when anyone of us ends his/her race here. Heaven is glorious and eternal and it takes death to connect us to it. Sis Hellen has left our side of darkness to connect to the place of endless light; a place of perpetual beauty and glory where there shall be no more crying and weeping again. I pray we shall be qualified to get there at the end of our sojourn here on earth. May God comfort the entire family and grant them the fortitude to bear the pain of this separation. Good night Sis Hellen. The morning of joy will come where we shall part no more.

PST AKIN MESEKO, 07 August, 2021

Victoria Ewusi, 06 August, 2021
It was a rude shock on that Thanksgiving Sunday May 2nd when your passing on was announced. Pastor led the congregation to praise God heavily even if our testimony was like that of Mary the mother of Jesus, we should still praise him. Pastor Helen, I knew you very briefly before your demise but the Bible says that from the testimony of two or three, the truth shall be established. You lived as an exemplary Christian wife, mother, sister and friend. I know without any doubt that you are resting at the bosom of the Lord, your death is a gain to heaven. The lord will take care of all that you left behind until we meet to part no more. Toyin Balogun (BCC)

Ooooh dear, I was devastated by the news of your demise cos I kept believing, trusting and hoping you will pull through. Little did I know that God has HIS OWN plans for you. You were such an amazing, loving and caring sister. In your state you still remembered to call and had a beautiful cake delivered to me on my birthday. Your show of love and generosity is worthy of emulation. You touched my life in so many ways, as a Diamond Dames leader, as a Sunday School teacher, as my Pastor's wife and as a friend, you will forever be remembered and cherished by my family and I. Your leadership qualities amazes me. Your calmness, words of wisdom, you ideas, great counsel and support cannot be easily forgotten. Indeed a vacuum has been created but God is always FAITHFUL! Our consolation is that you have gone to be with your FATHER who loves you much more! Adieu "Mrs Pastor" as I fondly call you. Adieu Pastor Helen! Adieu Great woman of a Great God! Adieu beautiful woman of God, till we meet to part no more. CHIOMA BENSON

*Tribute from the women of Bcc to our dearly beloved pastor, mother, leader and support* It is still like a dream that our dear leader has gone to be with the Lord. The women of BCC cannot forget your sterling leadership style and the ease with which you mobilize us to carry out our responsibilities within the parish, zone, province and national. Who will feel this huge gap? Our soft spoken leader that goes the extra mile to keep away shame from us, with your resources, even in the most difficult times. We will greatly miss you. Putting others first is one of your many attributes. Even sickness could not stop you as you continued to support us financially, even when you were indisposed. Assuredly, we will emulate you and keep on with your passion for the advancement of the gospel of our Lord Jesus Christ. In reliance with the word of God, we will not cry like those who have no hope of seeing again. We take solace in the Lord and pray for succor for our dear Pastor, the family, BCC and the body of Christ. Rest on till we meet again. Adieu

I was shocked to hear of her demise. I got to know her in the little time I spent in BCC while in AUST. She was a role model, God fearing and fantastic individual. May God give them the fortitude to bear this irreparable loss. Amen

Sis Helen was a Wonderful woman. A dedicated Woman of Zion with a heart of gold and radiant smile. She was very Amiable and respectful. I met her in the Sunday school department in ICC for and she was a unique teacher. After she and her husband were transferred to BCC and she headed the department she ensured the department ran excellently well. It was a pleasure working with her in the Sunday school department. I know we all feel her loss but heaven has gained another Saint. May we all be reminded to number our days. Pastor Steve, The Lord is your strength and will always be with you and the children. May The perfect peace of The Lord fill your hearts always in Jesus Mighty Name Amen..... Be Comforted.

So hard to imagine you are no more Sis Helen. I have known you since the days of Desire of Nations as a soft spoken and dedicated person. You were a serial enterpreneur, highly talented and always believe that nothing is impossible. You were always a positive critic and look out for the best in people. As my Sunday school teacher, i won’t forget, how you handle your class and offer gifts always. You decorated the church auditorium while we were in DON, ICC and at BCC your touch was exemplary. You shall sure be missed and may the good lord grant you eternal peace God loves you more and permitted your departure at this point in time. You shall be missed greatly

Dear Sis Helen, your death is a bitter pill to swallow. Maybe time will blurr the sour taste but it definitely won't erase the very fond memories I have of you. You were peaceful, admirable, elegant and a fiercely loyal friend to have. Your dedication to whatever course you took on was amazing and worth emulating. We shared many milestones. I wish this was your birthday we were planning but sadly it won't hold on this side again. I can go on but it's hard for me. Sleep well, my friend. May Heaven open its courts to receive you with much applause. Till we meet again, I celebrate you.

Ngozi Francis-Oreruan, 31 July, 2021
I had just joined BCC less than a year and I was planning my wedding. You flew from Abuja to Lagos to attend my wedding and that meant the world to me. You were a gentle soul and kind hearted woman, this attribute we saw in your children and even our pastor Steve. I pray the Lord will be with the family you left behind and grant you eternal rest.

A Tribute to my Favourite Aunt She was a wonderful person and I loved her. My world would be different without her in it. It’s hard to put into words how I feel about my Aunt Helen passing. Of course the natural emotions of loss and nostalgia are all over me, but there’s something else. A strange sense of frustration as I try to bring to mind her facial expressions, her voice and most of all her personality. She loved me as her son, So when I’m sad or frustrated I can think of my Aunt who always made me feel so special. It breaks my heart that you could not see my son. Rest on my Beautiful Aunty the world misses you.

And though your life on earth is past, in Heaven it starts ANEW. It feels like years but it has only been months, And yet that is still too long. I still love you the same as if you were. I miss being able to call you any time and spend hours talking about everything under the sun. May God grant you eternal rest and continue to smile on you! Rest in perfect peace my beloved sister
